Ok, let's face it. It's not 1912 anymore and as a society we have better technology than we did back then. How can ships hit iceburgs in 2007 and sink? How can a ship like the MS Explorer sink in today's world? There has been talk that there is more behind the story that we don't know about and that something must have happened that hasn't been leaked to the media.

The only conspiracy behind this sinking vessel was that the CEO of the company is a HUGE environmentalist and a big fan of Al Gore's Global Warming scam. The media kept their distance from the sinking of this ship because it's passengers were all environmentalists wanting to see the effects of Global Warming up close...now with the sinking of their little ship, this mishap has caused a giant carbon footprin of sorts and a black eye for the environmental movement. The ship didn't entirely sink because it hit an iceberg, the most plausible scenario is that there was a maintenance issue in her engine room. The ship is designed to take-on seawater and convert it for use around the ship and what may have happened is that a valve or seal busted as the ship was traversing an ice field. The ship had a little too much bumping around with the ice which may have not neccessarly caused a breach in the hull, but damage to a seal where seawater is meant to come in. It was an older ship and although designated as a ship capable of going through ice with a strengthened hull, certain other parts of the ship were still vulnerable. The CEO of the cruise company was very cocky about the whole disaster, saying that the passengers had a wonderful adventure and gave the impression that this was all a fantastic experience.
